Geek powered blogging...

In addition to my aspirations to be a Great American Bakery Hunter, one of my goals in life is to become a genuine computer nerd. I don't know that I will ever measure up to the great techies of our time, but I would like to become more technology savvy.

Enter Lifehacker, a handy dandy blog whose motto says it all: "Don't live to geek; geek to live". I adore Lifehacker for its useful tech tips. I also just discovered the technology blog Geeks are Sexy, and you can't argue with that! If anyone knows of any other geek-powered blogs, give them a shout out on The Great American Bakery Hunt so I can go for the geek gold and learn all the tricks of the trade.

I am particularly interested in any programs that will make me a more efficient bakery hunter...suggestions are welcome!

Wow! The folks over at Geeks are Sexy are certainly on top of their game. I just posted that link and they found the glitch in lightning speed. Thanks for the catch Kiltak! It appears you are, indeed, as sexy as ever. Keep up the geekery!

Dang I'm totally impressed, first its all about Foxfire and now you are geeking it up on other websites!! Awesome... You should totally go to ummm
www.thinkgeek.com
They've got some cool junk to look at... its really a store..
What else?
Oh yeah, I forgot, do you have thunderbird? If you use foxfire, you have to use thunderbird... (or so I'm told.)
Also go to http://www.intervocative.com/
I use the dvdprofiler program, its cool if you have alot of dvds... I have like 400, kinda a collector like that... maybe thats why I live in a crappy apartment and not a nice house...hmmm

Hooray, new geekery! I checked out thinkgeek.com, they have a diverse selection of products, my oh my-- it may be too much for me. (Like I'm not sure how to take the fact that they sell caffeinated soap. Does the world truly need such a product, and what kind of person would I be is I used it?) Hmm...whatever happened to a good old fashioned cup of earl grey with honey, I ask you?

Nevertheless, I did find some essential geek items that I might need to acquire eventually. I'm pretty sure everyone should have a shirt that says "Obey Gravity, it's the Law"- definitely a fashion forward statement if I've ever heard one.

I definitely need to get my hands on one of those brilliant Nabaztag WiFi smart rabbits (read about it under the "Japanese fan" section). I'm not geek enough to understand how it works yet, but it sure sounds swell, and it looks uber cute too.

ThinkGeek.com is coming in handy in all sorts of ways--the next time one of my friends gets her heart broken, I am shipping her the Ex-unique knife set! Just take a look at the picture and you'll see- who wouldn't find catharsis from that?

I even found something to satisfy my Scandinavian longings-- Swedish fire steel! Pretty sweet stuff.

I didn't even know that half of this stuff existed! I swear, if I had a nickel for every time I wanted an MP3 player with a built-in Swiss Army knife, well I'd be a rich woman.

Thanks for the tip! And thanks to thinkgeek.com, for giving us everything we never knew we always wanted.

Disclosure: I sure wish thinkgeek.com paid me a million hard-earned, geek-inspired dollars to write the above comments, but The Great American Bakery Hunt is in no way affiliated with the online geek retailer.

I like that you actually went to the site and checked it out. People tend to say "Okay, I'll go look at it," and never truely go look. But I've got a ton of random web sites that are fun to nose around.
Of course I'm sure that can be said for everyone that spends a little time on the internet.
As far as caffinated soap... I really don't know what to say, maybe its all in the mind, if you bath, drink and consume caffine, you will definitely kick start your morning (maybe I just don't get enough caffine in/on my body... I should look into that).
Its good to see that you are embracing your geeky nature, even though this is a blog on bakery...
